Hearth & Cedar Candle

Description

A quiet, woody candle built around Virginia cedar and a thread of woodsmoke, softened with tonka and a little dry resin. It is the one we burn while working: present enough to notice, never loud enough to follow you up the stairs.

Details

• 8.5 oz / 240 g, roughly 50 hours of burn time
• Coconut-soy wax blend, 7% fragrance load, phthalate-free
• Lead-free cotton wick, hand-centred
• Reusable amber, ivory or smoke glass vessel with a cork lid
• Cedarwood, woodsmoke, tonka bean, labdanum
• Hand-poured in Lexington, South Carolina

How to burn

• On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the vessel (about 2 hours) so it never tunnels
• Trim the wick to 1/4 in before every burn and keep it centred
• Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time, and never leave a candle unattended
• Stop when 1/2 in of wax remains; the vessel is glass and can be washed out and reused
